Liverpool 4-0 Norwich HT: Alison’s injury mars Liverpool fantastic start

Liverpool began the 2019/20 English premier league season in emphatic fashion with a comprehensive 4-0 first-half result against newly-promoted Norwich City.However, the Reds opening match was marred by an injury to first-choice goalkeeper Alison Becker. It was a nightmare start for Norwich as defender Grant Hanley diverted Divock Origi’s cross into his own net to give Liverpool the lead.The Champions League winners made it two via Mohammed Salah after fine work by Brazilian Firmino to play him in and he coolly slotted past Tim Krul in goal for the Championship winners.Dutch defender, Virgil van Dijk made it three with a powerful header from a Mo Salah corner and despite the injury to Alisson – the Reds made it 4-0 via a brilliant header from Divock Origi courtesy a Trent Alexander-Arnold precise cross.Liverpool has made a strong statement in the opening 45 minutes and did not need the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) to influence any decision during the game.
